Darlene Sheardon is a certified 212° Connection Coach; Certified Life Style Advisor (healthful living consultant); 48 Days to the Work You Love Facilitator; a board member of Fresh Start for Women, Inc. (a non-profit organization geared to eradicate violence and other oppressions faced by women); a professional speaker; entrepreneur and owner of NuRevelations, LLC.
She is a member of Toastmasters International, a non-profit organization with nearly 226,000 members in 92 countries, that coaches and mentors individuals on how to sharpen and perfect their communication and leadership skills. She has held several leadership positions in the Atlanta Chapter of this organization including President, Vice President of Education, and is currently the Vice President of Membership.
Darlene is a victorious survivor of Domestic Violence. In 1989, Darlene escaped a life of Domestic Violence. After several years of recovery with assistance from the YWCA Domestic Violence program; one-on-one counseling sessions; self-help books (including the Holy Bible); supportive church leaders, church members, family members, and friends; acquiring a positive healthy mental objective; and the leading of an all-powerful God, she considers herself a victor instead of a victim over the many challenging experiences most women face today. Darlene’s past experiences with the various obstacles women face, has compelled her to become involved in Domestic Violence organizations for women, women’s ministries, stewardship programs (focusing on achieving financial independence), and church youth programs.
As her primary focus, Darlene states, “I work with women who have survived Domestic Violence; who are seeking purpose, potential, and destiny in their lives and work.” She embraces the concept that we are created to Live Our Lives By Divine Design.
Darlene’s company, NuRevelations, LLC, is a faith-based organization with a mission to Empower and Motivate everyone—not just women—on how to obtain God’s Purpose for their lives through seminars and workshops that present the tools and materials proven necessary and beneficial in developing a God-centered life plan.
NuRevelations’ seminars and workshops are designed to focus on the mind, body, and soul. How? By finding balance in the seven areas of life, that include knowing who you are, what you have to offer, and discovering the purpose for your life.
Darlene also takes her Live Our Lives By Divine Design concept to the jail. Once a month she, with her team of volunteer assistants, go to the jail to mentor young men defendants who are awaiting trial or serving a sentence for non-felony crimes. She gives them personality tests, tips on writing resumes, advises them how to discover their gifts, how to find employment, and to even consider becoming entrepreneurs.
Darlene had a lead acting role in an encore benefit stage production entitled “The Other Side of Midnight” written, directed, and produced by Nicole Dennison-Alexander. Proceeds from this stage production were given to low-income families with children infected with HIV or AIDS for medical co-payments and the purchase of nutritional supplements not covered by Medicaid.
Darlene’s professionalism is drawn from the 32 years she has been in corporate America working primarily in the banking and telecommunications industries. She has experienced the unpleasant rigors of the ever-changing corporate environment due to mergers, acquisitions, reduction-in-force, and other uncertainties that hinder job security and advancement in today’s employment market.
